To install:

New in 2.6.0-b9-dc2: USB updating is more reliable when switching between SMK firmware. Dual-core FM6, sounds and controls are retained. Release notes and test results.

Connect your SMK directly to the computer by USB and power it on. Open this page in Chrome or Edge.

Close Studio and other MIDI apps, confirm the version, then use the installer below. Do not unplug USB or switch off while writing.

Select your model and installation type. Official 016 firmware is downloaded automatically to prepare the model-specific package in your browser. Browser Studio and Simulator need no firmware installation. B2 adds guarded storage for projects, presets, settings and autosave. Existing Felucca saves are preserved but cannot be imported or overwritten. Sample preparation remains explicit; TRS routing is available in Settings.

First installation or coming from stock firmware?

Already running the SMK USB updater?

Felucca SMK 0.9.22+, Sloop SMK, Melodee SMK and updater-enabled Doom SMK can receive this portable update directly over a normal USB cable. Connect the SMK directly to the computer, power it on, and use Chrome or Edge.

Still on stock firmware or Test10?

For stock firmware, first use the official updater to install Pro 016 or Elite 016. Then choose Automatic install / resume below. Test10 and older private builds need a separate migration.

Confirm your Elite

The connected loader identifies itself as . That name is also used by FM-1 devices.

Continue only if the connected device is your with a black screen and every real FM-1 is disconnected. This will write Sloop SMK firmware to that device.

Keep USB and device power connected until installation completes. The update writes only the application area; project and preset storage, calibration, and the bootloader are outside that range. Do not disconnect or switch off the keyboard while programming.

Installation log
Beta status and current limits

The Sloop SMK 2.6.0-b9-dc2 firmware builds and its browser engine passes audio, controls, session, sample upload and USB MIDI tests. Public Pro and Elite packages are checked offline for model/layout, integrity and protected-area preservation.

Device checks cover project and user-preset saves across power cycles, TRS notes/chords, sustain, pitch, saved routing preference and note release when TRS is turned off. B7 improves oscilloscope refresh and removes black-frame redraws; the owner confirmed the screen improvement. Physical sample upload/restart testing is deferred, and Elite first-install confirmation remains pending. Bluetooth is not included. Existing incompatible saves stay protected. Browser exports preserve virtual sessions independently.

Sloop, on your SMK

Native Sloop 2.6

Three synth parts and a dedicated drum track, native sound engines, six-operator FM, synth drums, parameter locks, microtiming, fill conditions, insert effects and texture.

SMK controls

37 velocity-sensitive keys, sixteen drum pads, eight encoders, four faders, pitch, mod and sustain. The display runs Sloop's own page and menu code.

Grouped Studio

Envelope, LFO, instrument, voice, effects, scale and arpeggiator controls stay together. Choose knobs or sliders and drag sections into your preferred order.

Hardware-style simulator

A playable SMK panel with color finishes, illuminated controls and the native firmware screen. Studio and Simulator share a browser session.

USB MIDI input

Play either browser view from a connected MIDI keyboard. Notes, velocity, sustain, pitch bend and modulation feed the native Sloop engine.

Keep browser sessions

Browser projects, presets and four virtual sample slots save locally and export to a session file. Physical-device storage is a separate porting step.
